Supporting children through separation

The University of Minnesota’s Maternal and Child Health Student Interest Group (MCHSIG) has put together an amazing guide to help support children who have lost a parent due to separation, deportation, or detention. The guide is available in various languages and includes a list of book recommendations that foster feelings of safety and connectedness, along with audio and video recordings in various languages and other resources. Click here to find the guide on the MN Association for Children’s Mental Health webpage.

Visit the MCHSIG webpage for more resources to support children through these traumatic events, available in multiple languages. Please spread this information as often as you can! A simple share can make a world of difference by helping a child feel safe.
